Someone asked me a few days ago about the real estate market. There are quite a few answers I could give them, I asked which part of the market? Were they buyers, sellers, investors, developers, they all affect each other but it depends on your position in the market. Your perspective is going to be determined by your position. Well, this is more than about which space you take up on a HUD. This is in more than just a market. This is business life. My position and where I choose to stand and plant my feet, this is where my perspective and my perception is based. A bird will not have the perspective of an ant, neither will an ant have the perspective of a fish.
Sean Connery said something in the movie Alkatraz which caught my attention, I do not remember the exact wording of it, but it went something like this: "Your advantage for fighting is best if you are elevated. Fight from above, not from down here." His perspective would not have changed with just a better view from above, because he already knew the situation he was in, he just knew the advantages were better from a different location.
Regardless of the vision we have in our current locations, our perspective should be on the whole picture, the greater picture of life. This can not be changed by markets being fast or slow, this will not be changed by markets. Keep your feet planted in strong soil and your mind on good things, the rest will come.
"The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom."

fuel
We have conversations all the time in our office about what fuels us. Personally, without vanilla lattes, I wouldn't be much use. I know it sounds cliche, but I NEED my coffee in the morning. We went a weeklong period without creamer here and I was not a happy camper. (We each kept forgetting to bring the creamer, thanks Jen for saving the day!!) Normally my attitude is not necessarily bred by environments, but that week it definately was.
Success is something that should be a result of fuel, not the necessary motivation. People become destroyed by greed and leave a sum of destruction along the way. Carelessness certainly follows all actions fueled by greed. The popular saying, "It's the thought that counts" is very accurate for more than just birthday gifts. Our thoughts govern our actions and those actions become habits and work ethic. To give in to thoughts that do not edify or bring substance to what we apply our hands to is causing destructive things in what we apply our hands to.
May your week be filled with Soy Vanilla latte's and much success.
